Marbella Bath Canister

The outside of this canister is a perfect square, but its interior is a perfect circle, a quiet bit of contrast carved from a single block of petrified wood in a soft, chalky beige. A matching square lid sits flush on top, pulled free by a small leather loop that hangs loosely at one corner, the only non-stone detail on an otherwise solid, minimal form. Left open on a bathroom counter, it holds cotton pads or bath salts; closed, it reads as a sculptural object in its own right. As with any natural stone, subtle variation in tone and texture is part of what makes each piece one of a kind.
